Designed to meet the needs and accreditation standards of the Australian Road Transport Industry,
this system provides users with the ability to track and manage fleet maintenance needs. Integration
with the Tracking Client allows fleet managers to monitor on road engine information and feedback.
When viewing the fleet in live or history replay mode a ‘maintenance due’ spanner displays on each
vehicle that has reached a scheduled maintenance date or trigger point.

Sean Kenna, Managing Director of Australis Total Pool Care recently upgraded their MTData solution
to include our web based product, Hawkeye. When asked about the upgrade Sean mentioned, ‘I can
now view the fleet from my home office, which I would do daily.’ Initially attracted to the solution
from a vehicle security point of view Sean quickly realised the reporting module offered increased
accuracy on running sheets and over-time claims, ‘in terms of productivity, it’s brilliant’. Sean also
added, ‘with more than 400 regular clients across Victoria the solution is a great way to find which
vehicle is closest to a job and what time servicemen will arrive onsite.’ The MTData solution has
helped Australis manage vehicle maintenance through accurate measurement of each vehicle’s
kilometres travelled. Sean says, ‘Previously we had missed two services on a new vehicle, this simple
visibility helps us keep services regular.’ Sean goes further to say, ‘it’s not a case of not being able to
afford to put the system in, you can’t afford not to.’

Melbourne’s Silver Top Taxis have completed the implementation of their new taxi dispatch system
and upgrade of in-vehicle computers in each of their 1700 vehicles months ahead of schedule.
The new system was initially scheduled to go live in October, however after the fire at Silver Top
headquarters, this was pushed forward. The current MTData system includes new dispatch software
to allow Silver Top Taxis to provide a more efficient service with a decrease in response times and
thus greater revenue for drivers and operators alike. Another stand out addition to every Silver
Top taxi is the new 7” WVGA Windows computers complete with in-built satellite navigation with
landmarks. This addition will assist drivers in taking passengers on more direct routes to their
destination and with every trip now recorded using GPS tracking, passenger safety and driver
accountability has been taken to a new level. Silver Top is the technology leader in the Victorian taxi
market.
